Making 2012 ornaments

Windy, gloomy day - great day to stay at home and make some ornaments from glittery snowflakes from the craft store, vintage frozen charlottes and other vintage bits I've saved "little bisque bunny, baby Jesus, kneeling bisque girl. The hot glue gun is my new "go to" tool. I'll have to pick at least one ornament to keep; the others will be gifted to friends.

Some old favorites, the "scary" santa collection by the tinsel tree.
A new "musical" santa now perches on our piano. I try not to add any more santas, but this one spoke to me at the after christmas sales last year.
Another wreath which I took to my booth at So Jax Antiques. Lots of vintage ornaments in this one.

Getting ready for Christmas 2013

Okay - so I haven't posted anything for almost a year. No real reason, life has been good. Still flying, junking and creating but also spending lots of time with my sweet grandchildren. The last couple of days have been almost non-stop decorating. Each year I say "this will be my LAST year for doing this much!" but I do love it. Yesterday, I finally put together two wreaths from my stash of vintage ornaments. This one goes in our living room.

Tutus

What is it with little girls and Tutus? My just 2 year old granddaughter loves to stay home all day in her jammies and tutus. I must admit I wouldn't mind having one myself just to twirl around the house all day!

altered book pics

Some more pictures from the book I made for a gift.

altered book gift

I made another book using the Full Tilt Boogie open spine method taught by Mary Ann Moss. My brother and a friend plan to give this book as a gift to a friend/co-worker. It was both liberating and exciting to create book to be used by someone else but also a little difficult to send it on its way - but I have pictures!

Paper feathers

I haven't posted for a long time - Busy holidays, grand-daughter's 2nd birthday and winter somehow take priority. I did post the paper feathers I made and used in assemblages I made for gifts from vintage books, 1800s Spanish lace and cabinet cards. Somehow??? I deleted the post a few days later so here it is again.
